Andrea's 90mm 13th Century Knight
One of my distant relatives, Duncan the Stout, led our clan alongside Robert the Bruce at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. My surname, which is derived from the Gaelic "Donnachaidh," is one of the oldest recorded Scottish names, traced to the Picts, circa 7th century. I have chosen the armorial bearings of one of the 15th century Duncans due to the fact that the Stout's colors have been very hard to find (each generation had their own variation of heraldric colors, contrary to popular understanding). So, I'm taking some license with the heraldry.
Here are the colors and crest I am working from:
Here is where I am on the aromorial bearings (just started):
And the rest of my progress - surcoat and face complete, still needing to finish belt buckles, chain mail, feet, etc:
Will post more as I progress. All comments and suggestions welcome.
Thanks,
Kyle
