"Miles Christi" Pegaso Templar Finished

Hello Hello .

Lately work has been really "thick" fro me and thats a reason my painting gets slower and slower .

last night i managed to come to an end with Pegaso 90mm Templar .

I tried a different approach for painting this big piece regarding contrasts and techniques.. i hope you just like it .

But even if you dont , you must know i have spend many many hours of effort !!! LOL

The base is not totally finished , as it expects the other figure of the "Ghulam Warrior " from Romeo Models ,that will be started soon . Then i will make final addittions and arrangements

Looks fantastic Costas. I like the idea of the steps supported by the pillars but question the last set of stones........what is supporting them?

I have to say that I rarely get this kind of reaction to a post, but here goes: This looks real. You have really done an amazing job capturing the drama and brutality of the scene, with the dirty surcoat, facial expression, etc.

Really an excellent job - and that background and lighting. Wow. Not to mention the incredible base--is it out of the box, or scratchbuilt?

The base is made of the two parts from stairs that are included inthe 2 figure kits of the Templar and the Ghulam Warrior that will be the figure tocomplete the vigniette .

The capturing is a part of a stairway soits cutted to both ends as it should be continued if we could see the whole scene. And the mounting of the stairway through columns in a bath of dark greenish waters was my idea for raising the 2 figures and showing the drama of the battle on a higher level , and showing the elevation feeling . So half of the base (stairways ) is the kits bases , and the rest is my idea and scrathcing execution . I hope it will end nicely with the next figure thats pretty hard topaint as there is a complicated armor and many details

Perikli , i think i already answered Guys question , this is a capturing of a part of a stairway is not the whole scene .. i wish i could recreate it all !!!!

I tried to use more intense contrasts and follow the era and situation of the battle regarding ,the weathering, the dirtying , and the feeling . I mean i didnt try to make a clean painting. Also instead of using pastels , or other add ons for dirtying and weathering thefigure i painted everything on the figure as a part of the painting process. And i feeel thats making it more realistic and not as a make up work ,thats some times figures with addon weathering show

Costas, excellent! I like your style with this one, if this is a different technique for you-keep with it! The colors are great and done very well. The metals are incredible also. Do you paint them or buff/polish them? I can hardly wait for the other figure to complete this scene! Please share when finished with it.

Ghulam Warrior is not started yet , as i will be heavily work engaged till next Monday . So i presume then i will slowly start to prepare the figure . But there is no rush . I expect to finish him by the end of July

Scott the metals are buffed and treated with numerous washes of oil colors in different mixes and concistencies .

The helmet is treated in different way

I used a new technique i invented and i call it "tappered metal" . Its not that orthodox as it took me 2 evenings to complete it but i like that factthat at the end i got the result i had visualised !!
