    The Sargeant.... Dolman Miniatures

I have contacted the Lancer museum and was advised that the puggaree on the slouch hat and the bash is of modern design and style. The actual puggaree is very similar to the ones used on the slouch hat of the 1st AIF. As was the bash.

Also a slight purple shade Paul. Victorian Mounted Rifles were known to wear it. Pretty sure the OP figure is the Service Dress version, not worn in South Africa that much.

    The Sargeant.... Dolman Miniatures

Looks very nice. However I am pretty sure that the Lancers used Rooster feathers and not Emu plumes during the Boar War. https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/P01796.001 **Edit** The chin strap buckle, should be on the left inline with the corner of the mouth.

New Figure Painter from Darkest Essex

Sculpted by Phil, owned by me. I haven't cast any of them in a couple of years, but if there is enough interest, I may release it again. http://www.armscorpsmodels.com.au/Jason_Miller_LH_Bust.html

WIP Mike's ANZACs @Chunuk Bair by The Fusilier

G'day Mike, exceptional paint job mate. Couple of questions, Vic, he is wearing the Lemon squeezer, is this correct for Gallipoli? I always assumed (I know, don't assume anything), that the Lemon squeezer was introduced after 1916? Archie, we would have called him "Blue". Cheers Jason

    About first personal casting

Daniele, Post a photo of the sculpt. Depending on the sculpt, you might be able to cast it in one piece.

    Silicone not setting?

With resin are you mixing 50/50 by weight or volume???Always do it by weight and terr the scales first with the mixing cup on it. Should not matter whether A is poured first or B. Use new utensils every time as well. Don't reuse anything.

    Silicone not setting?

G'day Stephen, http://www.ammsbrisbane.com/ajax/articles/aug_09_casting.html This is a small casting workshop I did a few years ago. The products used are not the same as what your using, but the principles are the same. Cheers.

Yep, all gone, no more, finished, never to be done again. Thanks to everyone who bought a set of these decals. What started out as a quick set for a mate, turned out to be one of the best selling sets I have done. Cheers.

What would be interesting to know from a 3D maker

I have just had a couple of F88A2's done via 3D printing. What I have found is that most of the detail is great, but some parts of the rifle's stock, have a "wood grain" look to them. Anything that is "square" works ok in 3D, but if it is curved in any way, then you still need to do some extra...

    WIP ANZAC charge ,Gallipoli 1/32

Andy, I would say YES!!!!! If it was done the same way as Time Machine Miniatures Roman vignettes. Not all in one go, but small vig's that all join up. Nice work mate. Please don't skimp on the horror of what this depicts. Cheers Jason

WIP The Lord of Lion bust (from NutsPlanet)

Wayneb, It is Tywin Lannister from "Game of Thrones". HBO TV series acted by Charles Dance. It's sort of like the Middle Ages meets The Sopranos. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=tywin lannister&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=bLIyU4DQE4jsiAeljoCIBQ&sqi=2&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1232&bih=609...

Open Book Viet/French Para 1/16 AC MODELS

Oh believe me Steve, I know exactly where you are coming from mate. There is nothing worse than a figure (or armour) kit that has more bubbles than air, or more casting block than part. For example (and I apologize in advance for name dropping), Imperial Gallery from the late 90's. Covered in...

Open Book Viet/French Para 1/16 AC MODELS

I have been helping Andy out with his casting. As much as someone can over the phone across the ditch. His casting is getting much, much better and will only improve with time. Small business resin casters at times can be very hit and miss, due to materials and equipment used to produce the...
