    Just a ???????

I don't think this is a big can o' worms, you're safe :) Just to check, you're getting streaks as in show-through of the colour underneath? If so that's normal until you build up to full coverage, which if you're thinning your paints for smoothness can often take a few coats. If the problem is...

    Painting DPM

It is. But that's usually the best way. It's not always practical (or necessary) to paint camo this way though, depending on the scale of the model and to an extent on the type of camo. DPM is one of those where you can get away with not doing it the long-winded way without it looking like...

Acrylics issue with highlighting red colour

I commonly use a mixture of colours blended with the midtone to highlight reds - white + something else on the palette at the time. But what works best depends on the specific red, you can't use the same things with two different reds and get the same outcome. I would have thought that a skin...

Franz und Emil - an epic story (sort of)

Nothing wrong with it Mike, it's actually one of my favs of yours; just would have preferred a fresh one is all. Einion

    Soviet Sniper

It's hard to be sure from just these photos but they do look a little small (people do have smaller and larger hands of course). But my comment was mainly about their anatomy. If you don't own a rifle or shotgun pose with a broom handle in front of a mirror and study your hands, you'll begin...

    I must be a moron...

Which time? :sour: I've disliked the updates ('updates') the last few times, although this latest one isn't the worst, a couple/three changes ago you couldn't get it to give you the links at all for a short while  You can't get the site to view properly so you can get into what's...

    Soviet Sniper

It's great to see a seldom-seen subject like this get an outing, I only wish the hands were better. They're such an important part of the way this is presented they could do with being done to high standard. Not a good likeness then. Einion

    Battle of Formigny 1450

That is some seriously impressive work Nello, bravo :thumb: :thumb: One thing on the base, shouldn't the stake more correctly be angled towards the riders? I realise it adds a lot of dynamism having it poke out the front. Einion

    ww1 british uniform

What colours do you have to work with? What shade of khaki are you aiming for? It's a very open-ended question but see next bit in case you have similar paints. Bit green for a lot of it though Carl. You'd often need a dab of Red Oxide or similar to shift the hue back towards yellow or...

Franz und Emil - an epic story (sort of)

I love these two Mike, great depictions of an unusual subject :thumb: I would have liked to have seen a fresh head for the figure wearing the heavy boots though. Einion

    I must be a moron...

Russ, do you have the link generated by Photobucket for the images? (Get Link, then click on the IMG codes option.) All you have to do is paste that into the body of your message and the image will show up. The code should look something like this: Which gives the following image if I paste...

Face is great, vital starting point for a bust. And the mail texture looks very nice. Sure-fire winner here I think :thumb: Einion

    Brush Care?

Yeah, that's one of the problems with Series 7s. Consistency is sorely lacking, and their QC appears to do little to catch the problem which makes their RRP laughable. I began to look elsewhere for my quality Kolinsky rounds a long time ago as a result; quite apart from the savings I prefer to...

    Who produces this figure?

Mario, just a quick headsup that older Andrea figures in particular can be ropey casts. If you end up ordering this online I would recommend you be prepared for softer detail and some pitting. Einion

    Brush Care?

More than likely! Ideally yes, but not essential. I don't keep separate brushes for metallics incidentally, since if you rinse properly it isn't necessary. My #1 piece of advice for acrylic users is rinse thoroughly, and often. That way it's not necessary to wash your brushes too frequently...
