    Rainy Mountain Charlie

Hi Richard, Welcome back to figure painting. The book is Color Mixing Recipes for Portraits. But he has his skin tones in other color mixing books as well. You are sure going to enjoy painting RMC.

    WIP de Villeret (part 2)

Jason, it looks fantastic so far. How about making a video of how you paint? Your stuff is always the best. I'd love to see just how you do it.

    Historex General Junot

Steve, I know we are both severely afflicted with the Historex madness. Some of us just like to punish ourselves!

    Historex General Junot

Now you are going to make me over think that shoulder joint. I'm going to have to get my kid to pose so I can study the drapery. I was just going to simply stick the arm on with a smudge of green stuff, but that will never work now. LOL.

A No. 11 xacto knife, one little nick at a time.

    Historex General Junot

Hi Mat, The head was sculpted by a friend, and is not commercially available. It's a basic bare head with green stuff added for facial hair and collar. The horse is Historex, from several body parts and I cut the legs and re-positioned them. I also curved his neck.

    Historex General Junot

I have assembled another Historex figure, this one is General Junot. It is just about ready for paint.

Great job. I really like what you did with this pair of figures.

    Historex Spare Parts Madness

Being another Historex fan, I certainly enjoy seeing this. The Egyptian campaign is not normally the subject of Historex. I love the Mamelukes, and it's great to see the conversion you have done to this one.

Thanks Jason, you certainly did a great job on this bust. I will be using it for an example in my future paintings. Pete

I really like the coloring book. Fun video. What is the color booklet you keep referring to? And what kind of pens are you using?

Very nice. Thanks for the info on painting the face. How did you paint the metallic parts? What paints did you use?

    3rd hussard eagle

Ivo, another wonderful mounted 54mm Napoleonic soldier. You make it look easy to create these little masterpieces. Very nice greys, both the horse and the trooper. Do you watch Napoleonic movies while you paint? I can imagine you watching The Duelist.
