    Home for Christmas...1950

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I felt very pleased with this scene. I had looked at these figures for a long time before buying them. They were so "static" in their pose, I was not sure what to do with them. It was not until I got them partially assembled that the idea started to...

    Home for Christmas...1950

Ben: Thanks! I had to hold the figures by their boots for final assembly and mounting on the base. I will definitely "snow up" the boots when the epoxy dries. Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.

    Home for Christmas...1950

“Home for Christmas….my A$$.” History: This is my depiction of the U.S. Marines retreat from the Chosin Reservoir in 1950. Actually, as the Marines put it….not a retreat, they were just “advancing in another direction”. These Marines are taking a brief break in front of a Korean...

    purchasing authorsculpt kits

I also just ordered the STALKER figure direct from them, and it arrived quickly with no hassels. It really is an amazingly detailed kit. Red Lancers are great to deal with, too. Either way, you can't go wrong!!

    Painting over old painted figures

Don't use any of the commercial aerosol paint strippers, especially on resin or plastic. I experimentally stripped one recently and it got soft and I actually melted some of the details!! It was a MG-42 gunner with the ammo belts around his neck, and now it is pretty much ruined.

    new figure

I have always thought this would make a great figure, especially in a larger scale! Seriously, he is carrying a M-1, a bazooka, a skinning knife on his belt, a bayonet on his boot, still wearing his jumpsuit -probably from Market-Garden! I will buy 2 or three myself!!! The website quotes...

    Looking for some references.....

Hello again, Denes: Do you happen to have a color reference or photo of the '44 one-piece coveralls in the correct camo pattern? As it happens, because I am not really sure what I am looking for when I do a Google Image search for this item. I see so many different variations I actually end...

    120mm diorama accessories

Custom Dioramics makes some very nice 120MM bricks, both red and gray colored. They are clay/ceramic, and you can thrash some a zip-bag with a hammer to make even smaller rubble and debris. Hope this helps. Cheers! Mike

    Looking for some references.....

Denes: Thanks for the update. I have both figures in primer, and want to try to "get it right". Thanks for the input. Working from black and white photos can be dificult, and the Axis figures are not my usual choice. Both figures are excellent sculpts, and I will post some pix when I make...

    Looking for some references.....

Hello all. I am currently working on two 120mm resin figures and need some assistance with the uniform/colors/references. The figures are: - Jeff Shiu's Fallschirmjager w/Sten MK.II-Ardennes 1944 - Maurice Corry German MG-42 gunner, standing w/the weapon slung over his shoulder. Neither...
