Another fun show has come and gone. The weather was pretty chilly, but the roads were dry the whole weekend, so you won't hear me complain. The turnout was encouraging with many media, subjects, and time periods represented in the competition. Having two days rather than one was nice. With just one day, everything was a bit rushed and it was over before I knew it. Hopefully more people will be able to make the trip in the future.

A big thank you to the guys in the club who did all the work. Since I live two hours or so away now, I'm pretty much a PINO (president in name only) and the extent of my contribution is limited to helping a bit with set up. (Thanks to Ron for bringing the snacks. :)) I certainly have to thank Rick Berry, owner of Michigan Toy Soldier, who donates the table space to the club every show.

Here are the pics I took of the show. I'm still learning on my new camera, so next time I'll set it to a higher quality pic. There are pics of just about every entry or at least display except for a few that came on Sunday as well as some general pics of the show.

The People's Choice was this one.

The Best of Show, as voted by the exhibitors was this one. (Sorry, it isn't a very good pic of the diorama. Maybe Jason has a better pic.)

Our club figure for the year (in various incarnations and levels of completion) is here. It is Thunderbolt Mountain's British Infantry caricature. I should have taken more pics. Someone please post a closer pics of Dave's Oopsy the Clown. (Some of us like to deviate from the norm since everyone is painting the same figure.)

Again, thanks to everyone who came and made it one great show. :)

Interesting

Looks like an interesting show with lots to see. Did you get many through the door?

Here's some views of the show. As for me, it was a good time. I was a bit disappointed that there weren't any "new" faces. I guess my hotdog incentive wasn't good enough! The club did a great job getting alot of armor modelers to come out.

The venue is perfect for a figure show. In fact the lighting is far superior to any "big" show I've been to.

Some of the highlights of the show, of course, was seening the painting tables consistently used. It is a joy to see kids and grown-ups painting together. I would like to thank Wendy and Wayne and the other club members for helping out those at the tables.

I'll post more pics soon.

Jason
