    For Sale Busts & Figures

The French Cavalier was to my knowledge one of the last if not the last commercial available sculpt of Derek Hansen. The Vietnam US Marine Gunner was among the first releases of Warriors and at that time Trevor Hensley was strongly involved as a sculptor. Cheers Martin

    For Sale Busts & Figures

If I remember correct it was Trevor Hensley. But I am not 100% certain.

    I'm Giving UP

My grey army will probably outsize the terra cotta army of the chinese emperor. It might ensure the income of future generations of archaeologists if they manage to bury them with my ashes.

    Pegaso / White metal re-casts?

As with others I do not have any certain knowledge about the reasons that drove the changes of Pegaso`s marketing concept. I have heard that the owner quite early analyzed the resin copies of his products floating around and identified them as a danger for his business. Without doubt he...

Us "Corporal Jones " type painters.

Briefly I don't worry too much about my hobby "dying". You will find numerous threads about that topic on this forum and we are still alive and kicking. The average age of historical figure modellers has risen but that is not surprising because we were bitten by the bug when the hobby offered...

    Pegaso / White metal re-casts?

No heresy to me Gary - I am not a so-called "Pegasian" - and IMHO no manufacturer of metal model kits ever managed the perfection in casting, mould making and in the metal mix used for the tin alloy like Poste Militaire did - something else different to resin casts. I did not take much advantage...

    Pegaso / White metal re-casts?

Btw - just noticed that the Ronin figure is currently on sale at Pegaso at a nice price https://www.pegasoworld.com/product/ronin-epoch-of-tokugawa/ I wish that they would have adopted this policy to market their kits at a competitive price some earlier...

    Pegaso / White metal re-casts?

I have the figure of the Ronin im my stash - packed in the traditional Pegaso blue box - just checked it and the parts fit like a glove. I have serious doubts that this is an original Pegaso kit - look at the unusual weak (and missing) details - as I said in my previous post: If you produce a...

    Pegaso / White metal re-casts?

Recasts - a topic that can produce long threads. As far as I know the first recasts of figures were made from white metal and occured to become a problem with flat tin figures. These were not made in the today much blamed Eastern countries but by some people with homespun facilities. Today...

Review US Cavalry Indian Scout - Curley , All scales

I recommend "The last Stand" by Nathaniel Philbrick - published 2010 - who gathered most probably all available accounts of participants and gives a broad view of what might have happened without telling just one story. Custer preferred to wear buckskins which were somewhat outdated and...

    New figures at IL Miniatures

IMHO Ilya explained why he is no longer selling in the same way to the UK as before. Since Brexit fees etc changed for your companies and for the rest of the world.... If you did not mean to accuse him I got you wrong likewise. Cheers Martin

Jeffshiu's Miniatures 120mm WWII US Army 101st Airborne Div, 1944

No need to go further - all things mentioned can be adapted and if it works for you as it is and you like it, buy it.

Jeffshiu's Miniatures 120mm WWII US Army 101st Airborne Div, 1944

A Baseball pitcher is not carrying a Garand and the other gear while doing that. Twist in the neck might work when running at full speed in rough terrain. Trust me I know what I am talking about....but if necessary I see options to adapt the figure and I like the Idea of this scene

Jeffshiu's Miniatures 120mm WWII US Army 101st Airborne Div, 1944

The twist in the hip while running like this is anatomically awkward. The medical package attached to the helmet was rare and I know just about one contemporary picture showing a Airborne medic that did this. The model soldiers of US Paras make us believe that it was nearly a regular way to...
