I've heard of that working for others as well, but I tried it and the crock pot got too hot, I think. My figure came out with a strange, powdery coating and it made me too nervous to try it again.

Does anyone here use a paint drying booth? I use oils for shading and am planning to build one based primarily on the suggestion in Shep Paine's book. It will basically be a wooden box with a door, and an incandescent lamp for heat. My personal touch will be an electric temperature controller...

The fly fishing supply stores also carry fine diameter lead wire (similar properties as solder) which is great for detailing.

Great work - I like the detail of the untied shoelace on the thief. Little things like that really add to the story.

:lol: Tammy Faye Baker... this took 3 hours with a brush, but only 5 minutes with the Wagner Power Painter™. (North American joke - you have to remember the Wagner power painter commercials from the 80's/90's to get that one) ;)

I put in the eye lashes tonight and tried using both acrylics and Humbrol (too nervous to use oil - figured the potential for a mess was too great). The acrylic, while forgiving, dried too quickly and I found it very difficult to put in the detail with it. The Humbrol definitely did the trick...

The scope of projects like this always impresses me. While I admire them to no end, I'm not sure that I'd have the perseverance to see it through. Good work!
