seems to be a great deal of this going on today. Another message board I visit had the same thing happen to it last night. It appears that it originated out of Brazil. Watching Steve

    Suggestions Please

Hey guys, I tried the powder route on the scrap clear plastic and it left behind streaks and swirls. I used both a Q-tip the first time, which really turned out bad then cleaned the test piece off , then tried the cloth that came with the SnJ and had the same results. I don't know, maybe I did...

    Nostalgia

I think it was a Series 77, but I always wanted the mounted US Marine and then there was the Gordon Relief Expedition-Heavy Camel Corps figure as well...(can't remember who had that one) These were back in late 70s and 80s. Best wishes Steve

    Suggestions Please

I'm nearing the painting phase of the Apollo Astronaut I started some time back and I've been thinking about the helmet visor. I would like to make it so that you can see through it, yet have the gold tint reflective enough that you can not see into the visor unless you are looking at it...

    Painting in reverse question.

You might try Formula 409. On a test subject first... because I'm not sure if it will react badly with resin. However, it works great on plastics, even if the paint has been there for years. And..no really harnful fumes or eating of the skin. Best Wishes Steve

    Little Figures,"minor art"?.

In my humble opinion, anyone who can paint a 1/72nd figure and give it a modicum of realism (no pun intended)...is an artist and it, is art. Best Wishes Steve

    thats it I'm hooked

Robin, I can't offer up any suggestions, but I would second Alistair Horne's work. He's a damn fine author and I really enjoyed his work "How Far from Austerlitz". Cheers Steve

    Euro Militaire Astronuat

Great photos and figure! It appears that I will need to make some serious alterations to the Revell helmut. Jim thank you for the additional photos. I thought I could find some photos on Sven Knudson's page, but it seems he has reduced his archives since he moved his page to our university...

    Euro Militaire Astronuat

Hi Folks, I've another project going (see my V-Bench posting) and Johan told me of an astronaut that was at Euro Militaire and thought I might be able to get some ideas for mine if I could see the one at the show. Does anyone have a photo of that figure? If so, and you wouldn't mind letting me...

    New Project

Hi Guys, This is my next project, I like the fact that it's big and that it has a reasonable amount of detail to it. I think, as best as I can tell, I think that I'll need to modify the helmut a little bit. Apollo Take care Steve

    drying time oils

I forgot to mention, you can toss them up on your work bench with little loss of work space.

    drying time oils

Marc, I;m not sure if you would consider this , but a food dehydrator would work as well. They're low heat so the risk of damage to the figure is low. The speed of the drying time may vary, but it is much faster than allowing it to dry at room temperatures. It will reduce your drying times, but...

Costas, I really like it, you've captured the innocence and the simplicity of the time period rather well. Thank you Steve
