Just for fun: one day in history

Didn't respond because I couldn't settle on anything (I assume revisiting personal history or investing in that newly formed company called "Google" is out of the question). Possibly some legendary, yet ill-documented battle. Here that would be Morgarten. The previously suggested Sekigahara and...

ENTER here in INTERMEDIATE Class ends 31/12/24

My entry is a Swiss Halberdier from Bern, Second Half of 15th Century, 75mm resin by Medieval Forge and painted with acrylics. Cyrill

    Looking forward to this one.

Louis I de Nevers, Count of Flanders (1304 -1346 AD)

Hello This is an older Pegaso 54mm metal figure by A. Laruccia. Quick and fun to assemble and paint, though my primer apparently isn't the best for metals. Cheers all Cyrill

    Henry V

Thanks Melanie. Hm, I saw a finished version where the spurs were shortened but also found some rather long spurs from the time while researching so I decided against it. My main "problem" with the sculpt is that I'd prefer a tighter, sleeveless jupon more accurately reflecting the English...

    Henry V

Hey all The latest figure, it's 75mm resin by Nik Ableev for Medieval Forge Miniatures. It came with an alternate weapon arm with sword instead of hammer and a rounded visor for his bascinet (in that case the crown would need to be left off so I decided against it). -Cyrill

    Acrylic paint - brush bubbles?

I paint with Vallejo and this happens to me when my brush is overloaded (usually when rushing the basecoating process)

Shelf of shame, or the path to glory?

I sometimes "bin" something and then look at it a few months later and think that it isn't so bad after all and finish it. Tend to get tunnel vision during a project.

    What's next?

From my recent orders Would love to tackle this Henry V version but I just know doing the heraldry is out of my league So maybe this one instead, I can do a white cross reasonably well

    Great stuff!

    Benito Mussolini

That's pretty funny, maybe you should've included a trigger warning.

    Spotted this...........

It's why the first Flecktarn pattern of the Waffen SS was called Platanenmuster (after the plane tree, they shed themselves like that)

    Completed Spock

Here's a video by Dr. Faust where he used Vallejo Medium Blue and Magic Blue which is pretty close to the "canon look" imo You could also go with a more desaturated pastel blue to replicate the original look of the show

Origin of Lowbrow - The Flintstones

Nice idea with the cross, it fits the biker pin up vibe

    Anglo-Saxon Noble, Mercia 642 AD

During the turbulent reign of King Penda, son of Pybba. It's 75mm resin by FeR Miniatures. My goal here was to not use overly saturated colours on the fabrics for a more typical Early Medieval look but without going full Hollywood greybrown. Cyrill
