WIP Airborne Miniatures, 1/9 US SF x2

Gents, apologies for the long time, no post; life got in the way there for a little bit, very time I build up a bit of modeling momentum, something comes in. It doesn't show, but I've starting applying the brown to the second figure, including arms and torso. And I'm looking at how to...

New KG Hansen, Poteau figure, and its not the MG 42 guy... from Life Miniatures

"Pre-orders for LIFE MINIATURES NEW 'Ambush at Poteau' series" note series in the preorder title offer. my one reservation with this is that the figure can only be from Poteau, being a near perfect match for the images from that period. Rather than a generic figure of an Axis soldier from...

New KG Hansen, Poteau figure, and its not the MG 42 guy... from Life Miniatures

Gents, agreed on all points, particularly about the length of a fixed object, such as the rifle. Humans come in too many different sizes to really determine a scale! Also, yes, this guy is available in 1/16 & 1/35, too.

New KG Hansen, Poteau figure, and its not the MG 42 guy... from Life Miniatures

And the man himself, in colour Now 200mm is 1/10? Or is this just a short guy?

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 1/9 US SF x2

I'm on nights, days off from Sunday, will pick this up again then. Have done some minor brush work while taking a break from tiger stripe.

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 1/9 US SF x2

Thanks, gents, I appreciate the candour. I think I will feather the edges with the brown and buff than a repaint, which is a tad drastic. Today's progress, the arms and a leg. As I'm using retarder in the paint, I leave it to dry over night rather than rushing it and smudging what I've done...

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 1/9 US SF x2

Ok gents, the figure on the left is a little different to the figure on the right in that the stripes have been done by "scrubbing" the brush back and forth, not strokes and flicks like the guy on the right. That and I used a colour A4 page of tiger stripe camo as a guide, not an image of a...

Just quickly, I'm trying a different technique to the stripes, which I think looks more accurate that before...

    Checking the hole...

No flashlight? Will there be an optional head, with gasmask?

Affirm, talking to the porcelain telephone, or sitting on the throne four days, is no fun ever. But, we're back at it, folks! Here, I'm looking at consistency of pattern for tiger stripe camo, the lighting has changed the colour, so ignore that, and how it will look overall once finished. I...

Thank you, I'm just waiting to see how some SAS figures in 200mm turn out.

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 1/9 US SF x2

Right gents, here's where it's at, last week I got a gastro virus, lost 5kg in 4 days (I was 85kg Friday and 80 Monday), took two days to recover and am still a little weak at it, but I have work in the morning. What could be more calming than modelling. I'm working on getting the pattern of...

    Articulated Skeleton, GS Miniatures

I find this massively inspirational for some reason, and can immediately see how to use one; is it possible to order in 200mm, please? I'd use it like this fellow, saluting Germans advancing eastward

Affirm that, very tedious... Paint, mask, clean air brush, pause, paint etc etc. thankfully it is only three colours on the base colour, then the "droppings" and some touch up with a brush. Until tiger stripe, I managed to to lay the base colour, green, this morning before work this afternoon. I...

Thank you, Steve... It's been a task.

WIP Airborne Miniatures, 1/9 US SF x2

Right-oh, on with the show... A quick repaint with lighter khaki, leave to dry, mask, chuck the ball for the dog, spray. Repeat. And, The helmets match, as do the pouches. I used my son's jacket as a guide, but found it difficult to get some of the finer details in scale. I now need to do...

Jeffshiu's Miniatures 120mm WWII German Tiger I Late Production riders

I don't know how he does it, that's damn fine work. Yes, a couple of the figures looked rushed, but it is far easier for me to tide up a figure than scratch build my own. Well done, Jeff, keep it up.

I've started on the Multicam, the base is khaki, but I fear it is a little too dark... May have to lighten it a bit

    120mm SAS Operation Nimrod

A good study of how the boys looked going in to act as a guide, plenty of variation there to paint.

    120mm SAS Operation Nimrod

Hola Grod, confirming that the 200mm figures will be the same as the 120mm? ie, the same figure printed larger. "... the difficulty will be in the different colors of the assault outfits, leather vest, dark fatigues, rubber gas masks, etc. Not so easy." The leather vests have a gloss /...
