Are you looking for the twisted wire type? If so, it's quite easy to make your own. Simply get some appropriate-sized wire, cut two pieces about one-third longer than your finished length, and enough pieces for the barbs about two inches long or so for ease of handling. Stretch one of the long pieces out straight, and using one of the small pieces, wrap it twice around the long piece, leving the ends pointing out in opposite directions. repeat at appropriate intervals for the barbs. Now take this piece with the barbs and your other long piece side-by-side and fasten one end down, (I clamp them in a vise.) Chuck the other end in a pin vise or a Dremel at slow speed and twist them together, keeping an eye on the barbs so they remain even. Now trim the barbs to uniform length and you've got barbed wire, probably in less time than it took me to type this, and trust me, it's easier than I have made it sound.
