My latest commission project is the 1/35th scale version of (not) Captain America by Royal Model. A few have been covered already on PF so I sort of knew what I was in store for. To get better acquainted with the subject, I watched the movie. I noticed a few deviations in details, both on the figure and within the movie itself. With the figure, I don't know if these details were deliberately fudged to avoid copyright issues or not, but they bothered my enough to correct or improve on a few things. There has been some discussion about the folds and creases on the leather jacket, I decided that it wasn't as wrong as some had made out. When new, his jacket looks to be made of really soft leather so it would wrinkle a lot more than say a biker's jacket made of heavier leather. The folds are a bit sharp so you could soften them up a bit.
I added straps and goggles to the helmet, there should be two chin straps and the goggles aren't quite the same but close enough. I fixed the rips and tears on the shoulders as I though this was overdone, moved the shield to his back with straps. Added a belt/strap with pouches to his front, again not quite right but the spares box has what the spares box has, it also provided the holster on his hip. I removed the 45 grip and hollowed out the flaps because the gun was lost during a scuffle in the film. Thigh straps were added to tie it down, and a simple base made to loosely recreate the scene where he returns triumphantly to base. The base is the clear lid of some food product or other filled with plaster to make it rigid.

The head is tacked on, the figure and boom are also tacked in place and will be painted separately, which explains the slightly weird lean of the figure and those parts. Hoping to get things primed tomorrow.
