Having several commissions for some 1/48 scale female figures-a WAAF, a WREN and some others-I found I really needed a female armature in the scale. So starting with my male armature bits (lots of carving involved here) I assembled this figure thinking I could use her when done for one of the commissioned figures as well as making a set of armature parts. The eventual use as an armature is the reason this figure, which will eventually be clothed, has so much of her anatomy done. My intention is to make a mold from her and chop up one of the castings to create the armature parts. It is just possible that I will then be able to use a second casting as is for a figure different from the one already planned, perhaps an American WAC to contrast with the British figures.

Materials; A+B putty tan (which I regret just a little as it doesn't show well in photos against the resin parts), gray A+B putty (sometimes marketed as GEM), Magic-Sculp, and green stuff added to the MS.

Best Regards,

Ray

looks good Ray,
like a 'average' woman, in build, rather then a slightly long legged bit too skinny model.

For the era you are depicting, looks about right, going by a quick Google search.

thanks for sharing!:D

Cheers

PS: still have those armatures of yours, want to have some clear brain space before I tackle them in a project, a few months from now!

Jamie,
Thanks for the affirmation it is really appreciated and necessary for my sculpting, and worth as much to me personally as the check I'll eventually receive for this and other figures.

Go ahead and slap some putty onto the armatures they make good practice and I'm completely willing and happy to send you some more if you use those you have up.

Balázs,
I will definitely try to post some less embarrassing pictures of this lady when finished, probably a week or two from now.

Janne,
Thank you, the proportions were a little dodgy to start with as I was working with a male armature that needed a lot of alteration to suit female anatomy.
