The American partner to the ATA girl.
Another really appealing figure to paint; wonderful sculpt, lovely face and excellent uniform detail. Finding a good tone to match the very strange "Santiago Blue" uniform colour was probably the most difficult aspect of this one.

I am looking forward to picking up the WAAF girl next in the series.

Hi Rob

That's a nice piece of artwork on this from a 3D sculpt by Pokrad

Liking the fleshwork and the way you've done the lips

Good hair colour as well

Very nice Rob, the blue is a lovely colour, I really like the face and hair, you seem to be rattling through plenty of figures, all with great results.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon, these are very simple busts as really they are only 3 paint areas, face, hair and single colour uniform. The way I paint I have to do the entire face in one session as all my glazes are bench mixed in advance and applied in a very fluid layering process, similarly the base colours for the uniform, the glazes for the colour graduations all happen in one go. I don't think I would be able to stop and start in different sessions, I am not methodical enough, more of a "wing and a prayer" approach.

The Kardashian Witch I am working on in other sessions is far more work, she has so many different areas to paint and accessory bits that need to be brought together in a later construction phase. She is my main project currently, others, like this one, are respite from doing her, she is not going to plan unfortunately.

Of course it could all get derailed as my first orders of flats arrived this morning

Ah well if your starting with the flats other things may very well take a back seat, but you need to finish them before you forget how to paint round corners!

They maybe as you say simple busts but they are really rather striking.

Cheers Simon

Hey Rob,this is looking very beautiful done, the blue colors are

Thank you, I am glad you like her. These girls are really lovely pieces to paint.

I can highly recommend this one or the ATA "Spitfire Girl" as ideal to start with. Both are simple sculpts with lots of clean, open areas for blending and shading. This one has more fine detail in the shoulder patch, the cap badge and the WASP and flight pins on her lapels but her facial expression is fairly neutral so slightly easier than the smiling ATA girl.
Pokrad is selling the print files and a print farm like the one I use only charges 7 or 8 euros to print it. I would look forward to seeing you have a go.
