120mm GW Giant (Not for the faint hearted)

Slight delay in me getting a proper figure, so I started this one today instead, its only a GW Giant 95mm to eyes, so if he was upright would probably be a 120mm.
Appologies for the large amount of skin, and him looking simular to some of us on here not me of course
I'm using the Andrea Flesh painting set, and have used the darkest tone up to the 3rd pot now I'm a bit of a beginner what with this being the first time out of 28mm scale figures which is what I usually paint, so any help will be gratefully recieved, including honest critic, I can take it

my question is; should I darken the shadows down more and if so what should I mix with pot no 6

i'll carry on and highlight with the next three pots, here he is, hope you like him and should be a change from what your used to seeing

Thanks Guy, I've left off the extra's so I can get to the flesh parts, but needless to say, the cow hanging from his belt, the front skirt to hide his manhood, the top knot, and an extra bag from the ogres set, will be attached as soon as I cant get this right, oh and the little fella trying to run away on the base

And for £25 you get so many options on how he can look, a thoroughly good buy, and the assembling reminded me of the old airfix kits, except this on fits properly

Thanks chaps, much appreciated, but I need my work taking apart, be critical, its the only way i'll learn.

Do you think I should add some green and purple to the flesh, I will of course give him a 5 o' clock shadow and some dusting round the back off the head.

i wouldn't muck with the tone you have now for the flesh.......the bottom lip looks too brownish for my eye, but the monitor on this work pc is getting a bit tired and it may just be that. will have to look at it again when i get home

but geez this guy looks and dresses like a bloke i know

What i can see out of this pictures is that you are absolutely on the right track.
I should not go for darker shade's, but for more highlights. It looks so convincing that you could choose that the skincolors are finished.
I think that you reached the point where personal preference is gonna look around the corner. It is now up to you what you want...but again it is very difficult.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm feeling quite enthusiastic about this one now i'll carry on highlighting, and see how he turns out. The bottom lip needs sorting and I will do the beard so there's some colour changes.

I think I've made the paint a bit too thick in my hurry to get him done, but its a good learning curve for me.

Very very nice skin tones, i think i want to buy myself a set of those paints... Just out of curosity, how much did you buy these paints for??

Other than that, the figure is fine, even though the clothing is a bit err.. "exposing" it suits the character since this figure in a sense is working off steriotypes (mainly the one saying that giants are dumb). Once again, i have to say i like the skin tones

I used the Andrea flesh paint set they cost £10.25 from here, I'm sure they do them in Aussie land, but if not these are a great company, been going since I was a boy, and that was a long time ago

Well i just used a currency converter and it turns out to be 21.8653 AUD which would be $21.85 with rounding.. Just the only problem is that here in perth it takes forever for something to come to the shops so i think if i ever do buy them i will ask my dad to get them off the net

Its a Games Workshop Giant, its plastic and comes with several options on how to assemble it 4 or 5 head choices, weapons etc,
