Just thought I'd show you fellas this 120mm Modern Brit infantryman I finished last night. It was made for Friendship models and will be cast in resin. I haven't shown the barrel as there are two-one with a bayonet fixed.
Thanks for looking!!
Pete

That's really nice Pete, I'm sure they'll be very happy with your sculpt.

Almost makes me want to like the SA80 again :D

Hello Pete
The figure looks great! (as you know) ;D
I'm not an expert in modern stuff, but the
details on the gears and the gun looks awesome.

The face looks great as well.

Hi Pete
Not my era but a beautiful sculpted figure of a soldier from the best army in the world.

As a matter of interest-would anyone be interested in following a 120mm sbs sculpt?
I'm not sure as to how to go about it as the only time I ever did one was for one of those 1/35th Canadian/Brit tankers for Ultracast I did a few months ago, which got lost when my PC crashed. The photos were also of varying quality!!!
What do you think????
Cheers
Pete

Pete, we would all be interested in following one of your step by step in sculpting.
Please do one at your convenience.

Cheers

Hi Johan
Sorry mate, that OB is not a part of my world anymore but, as a parting gift from Mr Corry, I was left with a big debt, and the loss of a friendship that I never really had anyway!!!
You live and learn eh!!!!
Roc: Thanks mate, I'll get onto it with one of my next figs-shall I start from the armature???? The head????
Best to all
Pete

Hi Pete, superb figure.. in the best scale!
How do find working in this scale compared to 1/35th? Easier on the eyes or more laborious?
It looks as though you've sprayed the finished figure in grey primer, is that to show up any flaws?
As for a sbs who wouldn't want to see one. How about starting right from the very beginning of the process....the research...how you decide on a pose....how it's developed...be it with sketches, an artists mannequin, or with photographs?
Not much to ask then!
All the best,
Jon.

Hi Jon
Thanks mate!:)
I think that anything large r than 1/35 is easier to see!
Yes mate, the grey primer does show up flaws and can also eliminate a lot of them too.I find also that it can help a lot of the fine detail stick to the master a bit better and fill in behind small added details, which is important when making something that has to be cast as the rubber gets into everywhere!!!!
I think that if you are interested in a subject then you enjoy the process of making it and this can show. As I now am back to freelance work, I have to make what the customer wants, in the pose they want etc and this can take some of the pleasure away!!!
There are many subjects I'd like to sculpt for myself but most things I do these days have to be sold.
Choosing a subject is the hardest!!!
I really want to make a subject from the Jacobite rebellion, so I will maybe go for that, probably in 120mm to get more detail in!
