Another very impressive piece, Ross. I think this question may have been asked before, but will there be a metal rod in the horses' support legs?.........Excellent sculpt by Carl Reid.

Thanks Wayne, unsure about the metal rod at this time, I'll have to have a look at the master when it arrives.

Absolutely a stunning cracking piece.
As I doing a Samurai on a horse from Pegaso at the moment, I think I've gonna be far away from this. They are so difficult to paint and assembling.
But what a cracker.

One suggestion

If it is cast in metal, please insert a rod inside the front leg going through the body of the horse during the casting process
I like the figure a lot but I am not sure I would buy it since I already have the Pegaso one which does look a little bit similar
If it is cast in resin, I would definitively buy it since the Pegaso one is very very heavy

thanks

Classic scene from a classic samurai tale. Was it minamoto? I forget because I'm tired and I've had wine. Anyhow, lovely stuff.

Yes it is Yoshitsune Minamoto.
There is a famous incident documented, where he lead his men, included mounted Samurai down a steep cliff face into a fort.

Here is a link to Yoshitsune Minamoto's story. It briefly mentions the incident.

It doesn't really need reinforcement Wayne. It has 3 hooves touching the floor, and it'll be cast in resin. Pretty lightweight.

Yes Alex it will be cast in resin. Also the horses body is hollow to remove any excessive weight. Very light!

That's the chappie! I've got the story in a few of my books, great stuff, well done again, looking forward to seeing it painted up.

Carl's skills and work don't really need any commenting upon for he is well known to be a very gifted artist.Truth is I had my doubts as to the historical accuracy of his previous samurai but this one has scattered them all to the four winds for it looks very well researched indeed and at this scale (cast in resin) it is going to be a monumental piece.Minamoto no Yoshitsune riding down the cliffs of Ichi no tani once more for the pleasure of all of us.Congrats!

Oda.
