Hello Folks

Update on the Operation Nimrod project for release at Scale Model World Telford 9th & 10th November 2024

Following on from the previous Post we are now taking pre-orders for the 120mm versions of the project. As mentioned this will be a Show release for Scale Model World Telford in November and customers attending the show will be given primacy on the kits. After the show mail pre-orders will be dealt with by means of Paypal invoice.
We can only produce so many of these sets but we will do our best to facilitate all pre-orders. Shipping costs for mail orders will be at cost.

In order that I can collate the pre-orders please email only to [email protected]
When ordering please indicate if you will be collecting at SMW or if for mail order indicate your country of residence and your Paypal email

This is quite an undertaking and I anticipate that demand will be high for these figures so if you want any of them please pre-order to avoid disappointment.
I have attached pics from which you can appreciate the size difference of the 2 x scales.
The next phase will be the 1/9th versions which will consist of the 4 x figures on the balcony in full and bust versions.

Absolutely superb. That's a lot of black paint as well - along with white, not the easiest colour to get right.

Mike

I just rewatched the film "6Days" for fun, it's not all black, and the difficulty will be in the different colors of the assault outfits, leather vest, dark fatigues, rubber gas masks, etc. Not so easy.

Hola Grod,

confirming that the 200mm figures will be the same as the 120mm? ie, the same figure printed larger.

"... the difficulty will be in the different colors of the assault outfits, leather vest, dark fatigues, rubber gas masks, etc. Not so easy." The leather vests have a gloss / sheen to them, and the fatigues are matt, which is a good start for painting, the other items will be their own, natural colour. Painting in black, I use a dark grey base, then a wash of neat black paint. But yes, painting a black figure is problematic.

Hello.
Yes the 4 x 200mm figures and busts are scaled up from the original 75mm versions. Tommi is working on these at the moment. He has to do some amendment work on the busts but hopefully they will be ready for Telford.
I look forward to seeing some painted figures.
Cheers
Gordon

A good study of how the boys looked going in to act as a guide, plenty of variation there to paint.

Many thanks for this photo, which proves that these figurines will require a much more difficult painting job than one would think at first glance.
A lot of color, gloss and matte and touches of satin.
A big challenge
