This is a repaint of a Verlinden figure I originally finished about six weeks ago. I wasn't happy with my original efforts , so I stripped it down, added an Alpine head, and found some new hands. I also decided to vary the uniform colours to add some interest.

Hi Peter

Another nice version , good changes with the head and the variation in colours works well as you say adds more interest

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to seeing the next

Happy benchtime

Peter, this is your best piece to date. Re-paints are often all the more satisfying, as they give you the chance to beat your demons! Seriously, you can consider this one a triumph. A clear demonstration of the progress you've made. Well done, mate.

Morning Peter
The head was a good choice.
I guess you needed to change the figure and it has definitely stepped up a notch or 2.
The sculpt certainly gives you a good workout with the drapery, which is top notch as always.
I guess it must be hard to get a spot in the cabinet at the moment and the Dettol is working overtime!
Would a bust be a change of pace and a "palette" cleanser?
Enjoy the paint and the next victim.
I'm off to Boots for another eye test, my eyes have taken longer to retire than I did!
Have a good day
Regards
Steve H

BP - Very kind words, thank you.

Steve - Morning. The drapery on this figure is very nicely sculpted, making it a pleasure to paint. Cabinet space is getting tight, so it might be time for a cull - ha, ha. As for the bust idea, I am working on a re-paint of a Young's tanker as it happens. My eyes have been really suffering of late and I just can't seem to get at the detail on the smaller figures these days, so it may be time to up the scale, for a while at least. Good news to you, I know.

A definite improvement on your last incarnation Peter, the colour variation has really improved the figure, as has the head. I did like the head with the fur cap, and they were worn by u-boot crews (playing lookout in the conning tower in the North Atlantic gets surprisingly chilly ), but it doesn't work aswel with a stand alone figure I think.

You're gonna need a bigger cabinet....
