120mm Union Zouave, ACW

Yet another Verlinden figure, this time depicting am American Civil War Zouave of the 114th Pennsylvania Volunteers. I've done this one before, but return to it periodically to practice painting red.

I've made a couple of changes to the box offering, namely, to turn the head to the left, put his rifle with bayonet fixed in the left hand, and given the right hand a grenade.

Super work on the reds, all the practise is definitely worth it as it looks flawless.

The old Verlinden catalogue is certainly getting a boost with your current projects.

So much better than the original box art from the ?o's and ?0's.

Your work really is on point at the moment, the 1/16 figures are cracking.

Hi Steve

The reds look flawless because my camera tends to make them 'bloom', though I was reasonably happy with the way they turned out here. I had a loft session the other day and selected the next set of victims, a mix of Verlinden, Dog Tag and Amati, so that should keep me busy. Off to the optician today to see how much this lark has damaged my eyesight - fingers crossed.
