WIP 17th lancer 1854

Hello folks,
I'm working on a number of piecs at the same time this week so here's
Work in progress pics of another that's well underway.
Beautifully sculpted by Maurice Corrie it's a 1/9th scale British 17th lancer during the Crimean War.

I have had this for over a year and so inposting it here I shall have to finish him quickly now.

Your slipping these in, 'Peedee damn quick'. Great face and subject! .. I have never really given the 'Crimea' much thought or chance.

This is a period I like but not many figures available in 54mm or 75mm, Fantastic face with the bloodshot eyes although that could be the rough shag (in his pipe).
Very nice bust, nice one Paul.

It's what I saw in the sculpt.

Did he survive the charge at balaklava, , or is just about to be in it ?

I do like a bit of victoriana !

Looks like a great paint job. I am a little unsure of the placement of his pipe. Not sure it would stay in a gloved hand positioned like that.

Me neither colin, I was debating wethr to make a bigger one, the 'issued' Pipe seems a little small and or delicate
In his big gloved mittens !
I can change it later on, these small details make a big difference don't they, thank you .

That could be the future bust mounting stand option if the keep getting bigger mark.
1/6th 2nd empire figs would look great on such a base eh ?
