Just got my copy of the Roo...absolutely brilliant!!! Casting and detail are first rate, no seemlines to mention and the whole pose is terrific.
One of the best I have seen of late.
Well done, Ritchie.

How do I get me one of these beautiful busts?

Hi Tony,
I will send you a PM in a moment.
cheers
Richie

Hi Kevin,
Thank you so much mate for your very nice words, so glad you like him and look forward to seeing what you do with it.
cheers
Richie

I have been messing about with mine today and added the whiskers, I used the bristle hairs off a 3" paint brush and a fine micro drill.(y)

You could go with a yellow ochre with a touch of sap green or a similar green. This will give you a good khaki base and then it's a case of adding more or less green to vary the tones. I'm sure someone else will give you their mixes.(y)

Hi Rob,
Thanks mate, I have actually trimmed back the whisker a touch. Your base should be done this weekend, so I'll have everything in a couple of days for you.
cheers
Richie

Hi Chris,
Thanks mate glad you like him.
cheers
Richie

I received my Roo bust today,.......what a unique, fun piece, and very nicely cast as well.
Well done Richie and Dimitry......looking forward to slapping on some paint!!

Just as a footnote,... I'd like to say that as someone who encounters Kangaroos everyday, in my own backyard, in the bush, on the golf course and on the road I'm very impressed that Dimitry Gaudin was able to capture the character of the animal, it's proportion and anatomy so skilfully.....resulting in this terrific bust from 1879 Miniatures........as I've already said well done Richie and Dimitry.

This is probably how a Kangaroo would have been represented in 1879~

And there's no truth at all in the claim that to calm the animal, as portrayed in the above photo, one must insert a finger where the raisins come from.
Because I can say from personal experience that one can only expect less than average results from that practice.
