I meant to add that before painting I'd carved all the braids off the shoulder of the engineer which I figured wouldn't be used 'in the field' and also spent some time hollowing out the coat tails a bit where the casting joined onto the legs so they didn't look quite as solid (possibly not required, but the sort of thing that pleases me)

Painting looks good to me , like the uniform blue and the highlighting on the red
