What a special treasure to finally be able to paint him up Macca.Another golden oldie, The Fusilier's 75mm Lighthorseman that I've portrayed as a member of the 2nd Light Horse Regiment, at the battle of Romani in 1916.
The only change I've made is to use Verlinden leadfoil for the reins instead of the thick kit ones.
Painted in acrylics…
I’m curious Mike - what is the pewter [foil] you talk of and where can it be sourced from?Very nicely done and presented. I tend to use pewter for the reins - it doesn't suffer from 'lead disease' with the passing years.

Got to be proud of having one of these chaps. Like the way you’ve handled the horse and overall display with emu collar badges. SteveW would be stoked to seeing it finished this well.
Thanks for sharing here mate!
Seeing him in finished state reassured me to keep hunting for this elusive figure.

Never experienced lead disease, though always conscious of it so ensure good priming & painting to seal against the elements.
Much appreciated Mike - will follow up on this for sure.Alec Tiranti sell copper and aluminium foil sheets and hobbybase sell pewter foil sheet.
I last got some on eBay from: https://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/...-foil.html?search_query=pewter+foil&results=2
