Completed 2nd Ranger Battalion, Omaha Beach

Work in progress - This figure is an overhaul of an older 120mm figure. I’m not sure about the original release, and this was a re-release under the Dream Catcher label. Several modifications - new head from an old Kirin set, new helmet from Warriors, new hands from Royal Models, new Thompson from Verlinden, and a completely reworked left arm. There are several other minor modifications that are too numerous to mention. Now, on to the base.

Yes, that is the original figure that I started with. There are a number of very nice features to this kit, but it includes some old white metal parts that need to be replaced, particularly the Thompson with poorly detailed hands, cast in one piece.

Here’s the completed work, with a base that includes a German beach defense emplacement. The French tank turret is an old Kirin release, but the concrete casemate is scratch built for it. This is modeled based on photographs of actual beach defense emplacements at Omaha Beach.
