Just think of Cesare Milani's 'Scots Greys at Waterloo', or Sid Horton's 'Charge of the Light Brigade'.

For the yellow areas I used Vallejo dark sand as the base and then a topcoat of yellow ochre oil shaded with a touch of burnt umber added to the yellow ochre.Pure white was used for the highlights.
