I jave finished the dark sky blue coat, lemon yellow lapels, vest and pants.
For the blue base i have used formula P3 dark blue, few washes of GW darkenhof nightshade, then added light using scale 75 cantabric blue, last lights added some scale 75 sky blue to the cantabric blue.
As for the lemon yellow lapels..
Base coat with vallejo flat yellow with a dab of vallejo orange brown, a wash of vallejo burnt umber .
Lights added some vallejo lemon yellow with a dab of german yellow, edges were done in German yellow.
As for the whites in both officers:
Base color was pale grey plus vallejo german grey.
First lights was a diluted vallejo stone grey, las lights vallejo stone grey and a dab of white, almos 1:1 ratio.
Cheers

Thanks my friend, i really think it makes a big difference on the apearence of the uniform to paint those seams.
All the best

Everything is looking great, I especially like the blue with yellow trim, i think that came out particularly well. Looking forward to the rest (y)

Looks good Daniel.
Is this the new method for your white coats?
Keith

Hi Keith,
The good thing about this size of figures and being many of them, i had try several methods.
There is really none i could say "this is going to be my standard way of painting" the whites on them since i find most of them to work well.
And being quite the large numbers of troooers i like thenidea of having a slight variation from trooper to trooper.
I kept in mind that coats were supossed to have a lifespan of 3 years for the french Army, and these regiments were based in the west indies/caribbean, so, their coats wouldn't be pristine and i added the factor of wear and tear from men to menwith the regiment.
Uniform wear out dufferent from trooper to trooper.
I hope my theory makes sense hahaha

Amazing how the camera shows almos no difference between the white of the coat and the white of the vest/pants, two completely different shades , but on the pic it does not really shows :-(

Looks great Daniel
Fine brush work.
I know what you mean about the similar colours on camera
What I try is to base the two shades differently, For white maybe raw umber or yellow ochre for the vest and blue or pays grey for the coat. This should give a creamy vest and ice blue jacket. You can of course use two whites too.
But it looks good as it is my friend.
