Hi Smudger,

Stunning work as usual, and nice to see you back of the forum. As you have a great interest in the Waterloo campaign, have you read John Hussey's The Waterloo Campaign of 1815, Volume 1 From Elba to Ligny and Quatre Bras and Volume 1 From Waterloo to the Restoration of Peace in Europe? If not I can heartily recommend it to you.

As I wrote in my review of them This excellent, magisterial study will be the standard work on the Waterloo campaign for years to come, and in it John Hussey delivers a lesson on how history ought to be written. ... The Waterloo Campaign of 1815 is a tour de force, and anyone interested in this campaign should have these volumes on their bookshelves. If you only wish to read one account of Waterloo, this is the one to purchase. It is a worthy winner of the Templar Medal for British Military History and the RUSI Duke of Wellington's Medal for Military History.

I have no connection with author or the publisher.

Cheers
Chris

Glad to have you back Smudger. I’d wondered where you’d got to but sorry to hear about your parents. Another unmistakable and classy bit of work there. Looking forward to more in 2021.
