Thamks huw, I know you are a fan of this period.
Because of the vertical pockets the choice of regiment was drawn from knowing I wanted him to be in
Prive's 2nd battalion of the 1st regiment of dismounted dragoons alongside the 16th in 1805.

I love the dragoons, i've done all manner of them over the years.

Paul

Good research - to me that brings a figure to life!

Have you tried the Nemrod set of three dragons in Spain? It's sitting in my grey army and if you haven't tackled this get ordering !!

Cheers

Huw

I had no idea you're other hobby was growing Bonzai Trees ;). Figure looks great, so does the scenery(y)(y).

Lol a lot, I liked that one.
Thanks very much Gary.

I know it well Huw, it's on my list, as is the poste Militaire 90mm mounted one leaning and turning back.
I have slight alterations planned for each too and I haven't even bought them !:)

Nicely done Paul. Very crisp brush work. I think you nailed the dragoon green on the head.
Good to see a dragoon fig as they don't get the same exposure as the cuirassiers, Lancers and hussars. Dragoons are the working class of the French cavalry and I appreciate that.

Look forward to seeing him based and done

Kind words thanks colin, I agree with your view, but my next dragoon is trumpeter empress dragoons of the guard.
Really fancy, all white sky blue and gold.

Really like this Paul, goodwork! (y)

Cheers roger, I thank you

Very very nice, the scenary outstanding!
Regards Andrea

Thanks for looking and your comment Andrea I appreciate it.
It's the first time I have used one of these scenery items, and they are very good indeed.

The rusted railings are a first for me too, it is a lovely kit in itself, I shall use them again.

Those who know me well at the model club know I prefer a complete scene to just a figure.

So... Any excuse to make another tree too !

Paul

Great figure Paul, I like the colour changes you made too I haven't often seen Dragoons with the scarlet facings painted up - the contrast with the green coat is very striking.
Cheers Mat

Hi Mat,
Thanks for picking up on that. It's the only colour I haven't used before.
The crimson, orange, pink and yellow facings are chosen by modellers a lot more, me included.
It's the same with the Lancers of the line too I'm sure.
Thank you for looking in buddy.

Paul,
I see from the website that this comes with 14 parts, is the head, helmet and horse hair separate parts?

Morning Bob, the Complete list is-

Head, helmet, horsehair mane, plume,
Sword, sword knot and starp, bayonet scabbard, cartridge pouch,
Musket with left hand,
legs and waistcoat, upper body, left arm.
Circular Metal scenic base.
Metal foil for sword sling.

All a lovely fit too, I only had to file back the excess metal o
n the locating peg of the upper arm, and the casting line .

this is a beautiful figure and certainly you did an awesome job.
This post makes me want to buy the figure and perhaps made the conversion to a 1779-1786 Dragoon, easy conversion since the uniform it's almost the same except for the tall collar and some minor stuff.
Damn, i think i will hurt my wallet again :-(
thanks for posting such a great work on this fig.
cheers
