Your schabraque looks good given the quality of the casting.
I think you can improve the surrounding of your spots in order to better give an impression of puzzle.

Pretty awesome Paul. And yes I likely could do similar if I was willing to spend hours on the shabraque. Not sure I am willling to start over and slow down that much for an admittedly rough casting though.

A bit more work on the shabraque. Still more to do. The fur is paint and the spots are ink, diluted for the base and concentrated for the centre.

Thanks for the kind words. FYI the fur on his pelisse us way over sculpted for the scale. I tried to remedy this with paint, adding lateral painted lines of fur onto the major clumps to break them up a bit. I used the Scale 75 B&W set, which I really like for the nice brown greys included. I will likely use this a lot on the dapple grey horse too.

About to start the shabraque. Here is a nice research shot I found.
