Great contrasts on the 'whites' Monsieur Marquis. But shouldn't 'aurore' have a bit more orange to it?

Thanks Jay!
When it comes to."Aurore" i thinknof a pinkish orange yellow color, with last lights in an orange shy of being yellow.
It is a matter of individual interpretation i guess, there are a lot of controversy on the subject bit i normally follow my own perception on what i see this color is.
I generally find the Andrea color "French Orange " it is very suitabke color to use as a base along with some others to mix with.
I take pics with my phone, which will have annimpact on the real color, ligjts makes a difference too.
I took some pics in natural light for you to see .

Ahh! In natural daylight it looks much more like it. Color shades are a particular point of interest for me. Years ago, I visited the wonderful figure museum in Compiegne, France. I took a photo of a Napoleonic era 'color chart'. It is most helpful along withe work of men like Paul Dawson and Gabriele Mendella (who wrote the excellent book I told you about on le Maison du Roy). Did you get his book yet? For a lover of the ancien regime, it is a must for you.

I honestly can't remember how I got it other than it came from Italy if I recall correctly. You could send a friend request to him on Facebook. We are friends. The text (available in several languages), illustrations and recreated uniforms on manequins are the finest I have ever seen. He really did his homework on this one. It is the first time that I have got a feel for what 18th century lace really was like. Bon chance!
