Thanks everyone for your comments! It was fun to attempt to sculpt the baggy trousers, something a bit different for me.
Lars,
I can't remember exactly what colors I used for the jacket. I try to do new mixes with each figure as such I don't keep any formulas. However Id suggest starting with a good deep blue such as one of the mid tones out of the Andrea Blue paint set, or Vallejo dark Prussian blue, add a bit of black and use Sunny Skintone for the highlights. That will give you a nice smooth highlight color. Hope this is of some help.
Blind Pew,
Thanks man! I was 'forced' to use Milliput for a fairly large project while back, after a bit of a learning curve I found that I quite like the stuff. I still use Duro/magic sculpt as well though so it has not become the only putty for me. As with the painting (using humbrols) I like to experiment with the putty as well. It keeps things interesting and changes it up some. I actually sculpted three figures more or less simultaneously with three different putties to do a side by side comparison. However, the only real conclusion I came to was that it was a pain to mix new putty for each figure. The end results were. about the same as they all essentially do the same thing.
Thanks again guys for all the comments. I hope to post another figure in the near future.
