I'm not letting it slow me down too much, I can still do most things it just hurts a lot more than it did before. The main thing is finding a way I can sit at my bench and do some modelling and painting for an appropriate amount of time, red wine helps but plays havoc with he quality of work!

Right then, it's been a while, for me, since I last had an update, it's been a hectic few days and is set to continue for at least a week. Hate it when life intrudes on what I want to be doing, oh well just stuck it up and crack on.

So I have made a start on this young fellas luggage and added the distinctive Tirailleur Senegalese yellow braid and lightened hos sash with more highlights, I now want to concentrate on bringing his trousers and tunic together with consistent highlight and shade, all the metallics need doing as does his trumpet and rifle. Also made a start on his base.

Got an eye injection in the morning so no modelling after that due to not being able to see straight. But I'll catch some time this weekend between father in laws 80th part two and my Granddaughter having a sleep.over on Saturdsy night, I hope.

Cheers Simon

It's good to see you've managed to get some creative time again.
The tirailleur is looking really nice - you're making me want to do one, too.
I hope you don't have to wait long to get the hip sorted.
Best of luck tomorrow (ouch!!)

Like you said, the French Army in this period are fascinating, I do have a couple of other things nearing completion that I will post soon.

As for the hip I'm in the system and it will take as long as it wil take. The staff on P Coy were fond of saying 'pain is a sensation like an orgasm, enjoy it', they were mental but I get the idea. Funnily enough one if my neighbours was the Company Sergeant Major on my course, he's in his late 70's and has only in the last few years stopped running, there's no justice, mind you I haven't told him that would be far too embarrassing. Better we know each other as fellow Yorkshiremen!

The eye injection, well beats going blind and they do remind me to keep breathing when they do it, but still.

Cheers Simon

This is coming along very nicely. And vest of luck with the granddaughter sleepover......

Cheers Nigel, once my eye clears I'm wanting to get back to it and have him finished. Sleep overs are fun but exhausting, still my youngest will be here and she won't leave him alone so that'll keep her occupied.

Cheers Simon

Hi Simon

Nice to see your getting a bit of benchtime despite the things happening , looking better with each update

Take care of yourself and have fun with the sleepover and the party

Nap

Cheers Kev, not much to do now and he'll be all finished. The weekend will be a write off as far as bench time is concerned, oh well there's always next week.

Cheers Simon

Dave, Malc, did a bit of painting today then the monster arrived, I'll hopefully post tomorrow.

As for the eye, yeah not exactly gone to plan, if you're of a nervous disposition don't look.

It's never bled like that before, I can see perfectly, it feels a little bruised but isn't a problem.
