Hi Roger, very nice work.I have only just seen him.I like the way you have painted him.I especially like the the way you have painted his rifle, the wood and metal effect look great..Kind regards John:)

Thank you both.
The metal of the rifle was painted with light grey acrylic and washed several times with very thinned Citadel Chaos Black and the highlights rubbed with a pencil.
The wooden furniture was painted with various browns trying to achieve a streaky effect and washed with Citadel Brown Wash and again black.

Hi Roger,
Now it looks better, the photos before were too dark. Anyway your man seems still tanned, but in general is a good painting. As you probably saw in all my postings, I don't give opinions about sculpting or painting, I'm not feel myself able to judge the job of anyone, I push only the historical side of the figures, no more. But you was always kind with me, so I would not give the feeling to ignore your work.
All the best
Marcello
PS:Have you seen the new set of my Marshalls?

Marcello, I post the pictures here not to receive praise but to receive honest opinions and I value yours, thank you.
I have seen your Marshalls, they are saved on my computer. I don't know how likely it is that I need them for reference but I have them for no other reason than I appreciate good illustrations of uniforms of all periods.

.

Yes Roger, i agree with Dan, the lightened pics look much better, on my monitor anyway.

Very nice job you have done there. As the others have said, the style you have painted him in and weathering are great.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Thank you both. I'm glad Christos pointed out how dark the photo's looked. This photography carry on is more difficult than the figure painting.
Mind you everything looks dull and dark here at the moment.
