Another update: I called it quits on the head and hat. I think they turned out well. I got the head affixed. Now I’ve got to go back and clean up a little. I need to paint the top of the shirt at the collar.
Rifle, hands and weathering are next. Hopefully I’ll have it on the base and done by the 4th of July weekend.
Update, starting on the 1861 Springfield rifle. I’m painting it in reverse. I think it gives me an advantage. I start out with out lining all of the major components and move on to the metals and lastly the wood.
Update: this is the point that I want to rush the figure. Can’t do that. Now it’s time to fine tune the figure. Time to weather the trousers, the coat tails and elbows. I’ll need to also fine tune the ground work and tie it all together. This is the pint that is hardest. I’ve got a nicely painted figure and I’m going to try and dirty it up in and artistic manner.
