Hi Vitalino,

Looking a lot better ...am I right in saying you might have these pictures for a reference ?...

Sorry if they are not too good they are from the book from Europa Militaria No 3 ...

I would turn the stick round .....I presume you are working on the straps etc ?

This is onset subject I would add to my GA.

Looking forward to further updates

Hi Vitalino ,

I really like this subject ..are you adding the buglehorn with the 7eme number on the collar ....would love to see the reference pictures you are using so I can get it into my references.

Looking forward to seeing more on this ...hope it goes commercial that's for sure

very nice just the eyes a little bit "flat" need perhaps more eyebrows and cheekbone
Romque

I mis the arms now.....:(

Marc

I see what you mean Marc ...would look good with the left arm perhaps holding on to the straps or maybe with the hand resting on top of a helmet .......

Would like to see some horns on the collar insignia as well

Revisit the eyes and cheek bones a little possibly a tiny more noticeable

What do you reckon VItalino

You are more of a sculptor than me my friend and have had commercial pieces ..if this does get cast then I want one!!!!...perhaps Model Cellar or UEm ...just reckon the subject is great.

Question: Are you portraying the soldier in marching order? I presume so.

I've just looked at three photos of Chasseur Alpins in march order in my collection. Photos attached. In two of the three the top of the mess tin or gamelle on top of the haversack and rolled tent half is at or very near head height. The variable being the actual height of the soldier of course.

I'm attaching four photos as examples of haversacks and related field kit.

Any of these could have been used by a Chasseur Alpin. Of course there is no reason why he must be wearing all the field gear.

Well done! Fine sculpting!

All the best,
Dan

Thank you Dan!!
I appreciated your comments!!
I made more simply as possible
the idea is a chasseur with the least possible equipment
I think it is also correct
if it's not, I really have to change

Regards, Dan!

I think the nose should less concaaf, if you look at the pictures take from the side. It should be more straigth. The eyesockets (under) less bulky. And indeed the cheekbones could have more definition.
But I'm not a sculptor, only putting the knowledge from my anatomie courses.
