I have the Andrea Prussian Hussar kit.
I would like to paint it in a different color scheme from the box art.
Does anyone know of a web site or book that has the variant color schemes that were used by the Hussars of this time period(1762)?
So far I really have not found anything on the net that really shows what clolor everything is. Napoleonics are not my specialty and the color chart provided on the box is not very clear(it says that a color chart is included but there wasn't one in the box).
Thanks for any help,
Gilbert

Hello Gilbert,
Your figure is the mounted officer in 90mm S8 F20, or the SG F099 foot figure in 54mmm? He is not Napoleonic, in 1762 Napoleon was not yet born. I have the colours of the various regiments, but not all are suitable. If the Andrea figure is correct, he must have 18 rows of braids on dolman and pelisse, and only few regiments had 18 rows, some had 15, others 12. With 18 rows there are the 1st (light green), the 2nd red and blue (as the mounted figure in 90mm) the 3rd (white and blue), the 8th (black in 1762). Anyway, if you give me your mail address, I'll send the pics. If the rows are not clearly visible to say how many rows of braids there are, the regiments were totally 10, more a battalion named as 11th.
Best regards
M

Marcellin,
Thanks for the reply, it goes to show just how much I know about this time period in history, zilch!
