Hi! Finally I´ve got this 90 mm mounted crusader from Romeo models finished. This has been one of my longest running builds ever. It takes alot of hard work to finish a mounted figure and you has to think twice before every next step. This model took me almost two and a half year to finish of course I haven´t worked on this model all that time. Maybe I could have worked even more on this model but I guess you have to draw a line somwere and considering it finished. I hope that you appriciate this figure.

Very Nice stuff (y)
A couple of years to finish on a 90mm mounted thats not bad, I have one which has been awaiting me to fit the reins and bit for
nearly Twenty Years  so much so I have lost the parts and the bloody thing is no longer available :D

I saw it live in Malmö the previous weekend. Its a very nice model and I do not think the pictures does it justice. Especially the tone of the white is affected by the background I think.
Congratulations to the gold Markus!

Thanks for your kind words regarding my figure. The model was painted using acrylics mainly from the Andrea white painting set but making my own
blends with other colors such as Vallejos deck tan, Iraqi sand and choclate brown. The big areas were airbrushed then the transitaions were painted using very diluted blends from the Andrea set. It is hard to explain the painting process but it felt like two steps forward and one step back all the time.
Oilcolors were used for the flesh and leather parts on this figure but mainly acrilics were used for the most part.

Impressive work Markus. You used all the different painting mediums to their advantage. I love the simple yet very effective groundwork.

I have added the link too your blog in my browser too. Really great work to be seen there!

Durn Burn it. . . I'm so jealous, . . . like Kermit The Frog. . .
Yeh, Miss Piggy, take a hike. . . But I'm green with envy.
However, I feel white or off white is such a difficult colour
to paint, like red and black. Wow, what a beautiful job
you have done on this equestrian figure. And also, the
photos are just so full of drama, atmosphere, and tension.

Congratulations on a beautiful presentation,

The Miami Jayhawk

Thanks again guys for your encourageing words regarding my figure:) It makes me wonder if I should start a new 90 mm mounted figure in the near future. Maybe it will get easier to build and paint a figure like this time ;)
