Uh oh... What did you do? Misbehaving again?

Clearly he has! .. and still he hasn't learnt! .. Poor old, Ron must be suffering from memory loss, at his age you cant blame him! As he said in his own words, the recent 'Art Shop', that he frequented, and that has gone under, has been around nearly as long as he has ! Est 1834! .. ;).. so at over 180 years of age!.. lets give him a break !:D.... however he can still cut wood! .. very impressive!(y)

That aside, there also seems to be an undertone of the 'British Cavalry',.. uniforms being visually boring ??. I tend to disagree,..

and as other have said, the Prussian, Austrian, are fewer still!

I certainly didn't mean to imply Brit uniforms are boring. But the variations are few. Heavy Dragoons, Dragoons and Dragoon Guards all have very similar uniforms with slight regimantal differences. All Light Dragoons wear the same uniform with regimental facings as with the Hussars who also include some headdress variations.
Where are the Cuirassiers? Carabiniers? Lancers? Uhlans? Mounted Rifles? Cossacks? Mameluks? Mouted Grenadiers?... You get my drift.

I quite like British cavalry uniforms, I have painted a few of them and have in the works a fairly large dio in the works... But you have to admit, compared to other cavalry types during the Napoleonic period, the choices are somewhat limited.

I wish there was more out there to choose from

British cavalry uniforms evolved quite markedly over the Napoleonic period from light dragoons with Tarleton helmets and coloured dolmans through to tall Mirleton shakos to busbies and French style shakos. As you say, the heavy cavalry uniforms were more alike, but again their uniforms evolved quite markedly as well from beginning to end. Of course the Horse Guards wore blue, not scarlet. Cuirasses appeared in the Regency period, as did bearskins for the household cavalry.

Quite so Mike... Many changes came over time. I totally forgot the "Blues". Headdress changed, bicorns to shakos to Grecian helmets. Buttons and loops became vertical tapes and hooks, long coattails got shorter. Breeches and boots were replaced with overalls. With the addition of lancer regiments, the range expanded but that was out of the Napoleonic era.
I'd love to see more of these sculpted. Maybe they are out there and I just don't know. I never understood why there is a hole in the market.

Which is exactly my point! :D... where are 'Napoleons', mounted foes! in 90mm + ?? I Had a look around for Prussian, KGL,.. Hanoverian,. (Mounted). seen as though the, 'British', option is, ( Flatter than a, 'Witches Tit'), ... these options are even less ..

Regards,

Gone Bonkers !!!;)

Ps, How is your leg ??

One for you Mark

Cheers Keith,(y) .. I can now see its appeal, it does look the business! .. So if this still exists, (Doubtful) it is an 80mm piece ! .... I doubt its still going for, 28 quid though! ... but this type of sculpt is right up my alley.
So why? cannot this type of scene be taken on board, and developed ???

Regards,

Mark

I remember when the Taisho was viewed as insanely priced at a tenner  That is a nice piece will I still love metal figures resin does offer so much more in the way of action poses yet we rarely see them

Cheers Geoff (y) .... It would be a bit of a, 'Monster',.. size wise if both pieces where matched! .. however are they still available ?? I looked up V/M,.. everything seems 54mm and sold ???

Interesting concept for a Hussar, 'Conversion',...(y)

Hi Mark, the links I've posted are from their current website & they seem to be still very much in business.
