Hi all this is my latest work which i have completed today, i have some minor details still to do on some of the equipment but im calling it finished for now. German is not my usual subject but i liked the idea of portraying the youth of the German army during ww2 and this is the result. The main aim was to get some experience on sculpting a younger figure than the usual mature figure i normally sculpt. Main sculpting done with Supersculpey(pink) and magicsculpt(grey).

All comments and critique welcome guys,

Steve

Tony and Mark thanyou very much guys, this was a pleasure to sculpt and seemed to fall together.

All the best

Steve

Steve, great sculpting , I really like the detail work on his equiptment, I assume the rifle is scratch-built as it's one of your specialities. Superb.

Cheers Ken

Steve -this has to be one of your best figures to date mate - I am not a lover of german pieces but this one captures everything I feel would be this particular personality
Ian

Steve: Mate this has got to be one of your best works. I'm not normaly a fan of German figures, but if this were avalible commercially I think I'd get it. Which is the highest complement, since I haven't purchased a figure in almost 30 years. Great work Steve, keep it up.

Looks great

One thing I've noticed though, the belt 'appears' a bit low...as though its not hanging off the tunic support hooks....only a little low, was this deliberate?

se

Carl... from your comments i have achieved what i was aiming for so i am very happy with that.

Ken... Yes as usual mate i scratchbuilt the weapon and in all i think it took me about 10 hours work alone although i really enjoy weapon sculpting, thanks.

Ian... Good to hear from you mate and im pleased you took to him even though its far from your subject matter.

Anthony... I will take your comment as a great compliment mate, how are you keeping ?

Balazs... Thankyou for the tiem to look and comment it is much appreciated.

Stuart... Yes well spotted with the belt position, i agree that the belt is normaly worn more toward the chest but i wanted to give a more relaxed feel to reflect the figures pose hence the lower position.

Thanks all for the comments,

Steve

Very fine sculpting Steve, getting an age concept, "youth" in this case, to work is a really remakable skill. Also like the headband, nice touch !

Can't really post any more about the uniform and the weapons...the belt being low looks just like a youth would wind up wearing after a few hours...strangely (or differently, rather) I see in his face a boy who has been hardened and calloused already by war. Youth lost so very quickly.

Phil your comment on the face has really made my day as this is exactly what i was trying to achieve with the caracter of this sculpt.

Thanks

Steve

Well then, you've certainly succeeded Steve... really full of character. Superb on all levels.
It reminds me of Jamie Bell.

G'Day Steve.
I like it and look forward to seeing him painted ( the face is a dead ringer of my godson.) congrats
Cheers
Alan
