"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."
So goes the quote, I'm sure you're all familiar with this one, a 75mm from Jeff Shiu.
Three goes for the face, three for the kilt, and two attempts overall.
I just couldn't seem to get it right. (Still haven't I hear you say.)
I so wanted this to be a success, I'm not sure I got as much enjoyment out of it as I should have.
Anyway all comments welcome.........

The figure looks well painted to me !

So this is the triumph of struggle and persistance
against frustration.

Well done for not just putting it aside, we have all experienced the same with a model.

Well done

Paul

I know how you feel...I'm also painting this figure and I'm not satisfied at all with my results.
I've painted several Jeff Shiu's figures and I can not complain about quality but this one is not one of their best imho...I'll try harder...
:(

Thanks for the kind words guys. Yes, it took a few goes, but I am getting happier with the end result with each passing day.
Some times things don't go as smoothly as you plan. i first tried a different palette for the skin tones - didn't work....
Than I went through three goes at the kilt - initially I ended up doing in in Humbrol enamels - tried and trusted old favourites and didn't let me down!
Again, any questions please do ask

Hard to tell really because the photos are poorly lit, but from what I can see it looks pretty good to me.
