After a break due to a health issue, I finally got back to this and am substantially done with the painting. There are a few details to hit and then get him on a base. It's the first time I've done black cloth and, while not the greatest, I'm satisfied that I've moved further down my relearning journey.

Hi Paul

Sorry to hear about the health , hope alls sorted , nice to see a update on this , certainly not the easiest to paint but it’s looking good , working well for the image of the subject ...

Great film as well !

This needs a few tweaks - though I do need to realize when it's time to stop - but since I got a halfway decent phots I thought I'd post Mr. Strawn at this "nearly done" stage. I wish I had better photography skills; It does look better in person.

Here's a video that might give a better idea:

Impressive, he really has come out a treat, all your hard work has paid dividends, it really is a super figure. I feel your pain with the photography though, we need a roving PF photographer who can pop in when needed, in an ideal world anyway.

Cheers Simon

Thanks, Simon. As usual with me, it took awhile but it was worth it. I got it done just in time for my heart ablation procedure this coming Friday!

Hi there

As Simon says ...impressive ...you’ve really brought him to life

Thanks for the V Bench

Have a look at entering the competitions after your “ tweaks “

Look forward to the next

Enjoy the fun @ the bench

Some nice progress there, glad you sorted the sheen on the black. Have you tried Mar Black, it's less oily and has less of a sheen to.it. ... Cheers Simon

.Simon, I forgot to mention that I did indeed try the Mars Black and it made big difference. Thanks for the tip.
