Thx Phil. I gather you are a Russell fan too. I like both Remington and Russell's paintings. I find Remington more accomplished with the brushstrokes and details but Russell's work is very raw and colours are very vivid.

Yes, they are chalk and cheese, but both evoke the feel of that brilliant period in American history. Remington leaned more towards the military subjects, where Russell dealt with daily life on the range. Love 'em both.
