After watching some greatly entertaining TV programs by celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, I decided to put together a model of a Land Rover used in his series from Channel 4 called "A Cook On The Wild Side". As the model progressed, I thought it would be appropriate to add a figure of Hugh himself, and looked for a 1/24 scale subject that could possibly work.

I ended up purchasing a Master Box figure of Jimmy (Tex) Haywood, and added some sculpted hair and glasses before painting him up for the final display. If I squint hard enough, he almost resembles the young character from Series 1.

The following steps were taken for the figure, and I'll place some "finished" photos of the whole scene in the Completed forum.
Cheers!

Now that's different! We are big Hugh fans in this house and I think you have captured him very well in this miniature. Very nice work indeed (y)

Thanks for that, Nigel. We only just discovered Hugh last year (we're in Canada) and already have bought some of his cook books and DVD's. He's quite the character :)

Cracking bit of sculpting on the hair there is a decent resemblance.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon - it was my first attempt at doing hair on a figure and I'm glad it worked out, since the figure is quite a bit older and more chiselled looking than "cherubic" young Hugh.

I have to admit that as much as we watched and enjoyed his early programmes it wasn't long for me at any rate before he got irritating.

Cheers Simon
