It's been a while since I've sculpted anything, so I decided to sculpt a head to loosen up. The head is more or less 1/24 scale since it's more caricature than anything. The head was made from Sculpey III. I'm going to start building a tricorn hat for it tonight. I have not decided yet if I'm going to go ahead with a full figure though. If so, I'll then start a thread on my Vbench. I actually thought about all those cool pirate heads Gordy sculpted waaaay back while doing this.~Gary

Hi Gary !
Go to your Control Panel,to Edit Options, scroll down to Visible Display Options and highlight the Display Attachments box. That should solve your photo display " problems " ! HTH. Cheers !

Hi Gary,

very interesting face with a lot of character !!!

Would be nice to see it come together with the right body !!! Perhaps a old british officer....

Best wishes,
Markus

Actually a mask, right?

Gary - Is this based on the character from the recent movie, what was it called(?) - Was it "V"? So what you are sculpting would actually be a mask, right? Great job, although if that's what you are doing, the cheekbones are too wide, aren't they? Maybe it's the angle of the photos. You get such great results from Sculpey, but then again, you could probably model/sculpt using mud and sticks and still get great results! :)

A few days ago I saw an about 1/6th scale model of a Toyota Landcruiser done in sandstone - !? I can't get why the artist would want to do that. Whatever. It's in the Denver airport on the second floor of the B terminal if anybody wants to see it.

All the best,
Dan

Dan, Thanks. The face is totally made up. I was doodling one day and thought it would be fun to sculpt. The one great thing about caricature is proportions are pretty much thrown out the window.~Gary

Great caricature! I don't know how I missed this post before. Good job Gary, the face shows a great sensitivity for REAL facial structure and character.

Reall nice!!

Mike

Mike, Gee mister, thanks! Mike I thought this would be a fun way to dig myself out of a slump. My thoughts are that by working this way it may improve the way I go about sculpting an entire figure.~Gary
