Time for an update...
I have laid out the slabs on the upper level...and filled the gaps on the front wall...which gives a much better idea of where I am going...

This also allows me to further plan the layout of figures and ruins...

I will be swapping the two pieces of ruins around so that the higher one is next to the figure.

to be continued.......

Brilliant, really busting to see this finished, it will be an eye catching subject and something that will always spark memories of your friend, a great idea.
TERRY

Thanks Terry...although this won't be finished any time soon mate :cautious:...so much to add to the groundwork in terms of colour and foliage...the Dwarves themselves are very complex...all in all...a slow trek.

Cheers

Ron

Late to this one mate, but I loving it, great tips re aquarium plants, like Steve said hadn't realised you could paint them. Mark would have loved this alright

As promised earlier an update to where I am now.....
Have filled in all the nooks and crannies with PVA and 'Bird Sand'...drilled the locating holes for the ruins...then once dry it received a base coat of black...followed by several mist coats of white as per my usual technique...although the sides and back don't exactly feature in the scene...I thought they would look better with some texture.....

With this done I can now start to get some colour on it :)

to be continued.......
