Hi Terry, the pics are taken with a small digital camera, nothing fancy. They're saved into my pics folder the right way up but the site flips them through 90 degrees for some reason. The dragoon is next in my queue for painting. I have 3 figures in this primed state (the other 2 are WW1 figs from The Fusilier) and I have made a NY resolution to paint some of my grey army, starting with these 3 (they are actually primed in grey!). After that, I have a few Chota Sahib to go at (plus more recent stuff). Don't know how I ever found time to work.

A great positive start to 2018 and you have just dropped in another name from the past, Chota Sahib, now I will have to go and remind myself what figures they produced.
TERRY

Love Sid Horton's figures and there were a lot more in the Chota Sahib range than I remember . . . . Sitting in the GA at the moment are Napoleon and an Old Guard, Cpts. Morris and Nolan and a Staff Officer as well as Raglan (in a semi painted way) Thing I notice about them apart from the beautiful casting is a general delicacy and attention to scale for things like medals and braiding; that said Nolan is hampered by overlarge hands and sabre. The others, however, are beautiful, petite and beg to be painted.

Really enjoying this thread chaps :joyful:
Thanks for the input
Paul

Absolutely agree, Paul. I have the French grenadier too, plus a Celtic standard bearer, Roman cavalry Decurion, Italian Bersaglieri, 2 British MPs (male and female) from NI and a British lancer from Aliwal. Also several painted versions from the dawn of my modelling career: British army highlander radio op from NI, an 8th Army duo of RSM and recruit, A British cavalry officer from the AWI and a WWI Gordon Highlander.

I was also very fond of the French Art Miniature brand, they produced some really unusual subjects from the 18th century.

For anyone wanting to venture down memory lane, I would thoroughly recommend 'Mirofsoft's' website, and his magnificent collection of catalogues.
Whenever I'm unsure about a particular figure, I often manage to find its source here.
Happy perusing.

Cheers,
Andrew

Okay last batch from the very depths of the loft (The slightly blurry photo's disguise the paint finish) ;)

I obviously had a bit of a Benassi thing going on at the time since I found 5 of them. A couple of Ray Lamb's either side of a Tassel and of course the 'Marius Mule' discussed earlier (complete with bent pilums!) Not sure who made the Pikeman (I've got a very long pike to go with it somewhere in the box)
Anyway hope these bring back a few memories
Cheers
Paul
