I've finished it and think I've done it as best I can so thought I'd see what the mob thinks :nailbiting: A couple of caveats first though

1) The jerkin is meant to be shiny as it would have quite likely been greased leather The photo/lighting make it look shinier than it is in reality
2)I've deliberately left the shirt lacing off
So in the words of the Joker

"And here we go"

I don't know how well it will show but an attempt to show slight rust stains on his skid lid

And the best me and my crappy camera skills can get to a close up

The dreaded acrylics GW ones to make it worse  Brian. Carl had used something else on the helmet I forget what it was now airbrush stuff but I applied the weathering

Well i only use acrylics for detail / undercaoting and groundwork steve so i cant coment on them too much, its interesting you say about GW paints because i like them especially the new range but as i said i only use them for specific things as i'm an oil painter but i find their user friendly,i think you have achieved an acceptable job, perhaps some more contrast in the face would help and i think the jerkin is far too glossy,i feel you need to tome this down abit, how long have you been painting ?

Brian

Well I'm a returner used to paint a lot when a younger but I had a little break of about 25-30 years between models , yeah the jerkin really is not that glossy I will try another pic in the morning with no sun about and hopefully it'll show that it's a sheen not a glow heh, I'll bear the contrasts in mind for the face though cheers (y). I always used oils and enamels but I do find these new fangled acrylics rather nice ;)
Thanks
Steve

Yes steve it could be the pictures,i have the same problem when i use the camera, some of mine come out looking really shiny but there not,its just that i'm f-----g useless when it comes to model photography :arghh:
